Katie Pine is an Associate Professor in the College of Health Solutions at Arizona State University (ASU) and Program Director for the College of Health Solutions at ASU Los Angeles. Her interdisciplinary work lies at the intersection of health informatics, organization studies, health services research, and public health. Katie has conducted multiple research projects in the fire service, such as current NSF-funded projects on understanding the present and designing the future of risk technologies for EMS and best practices for implementing artificial intelligence tools in the fire service. She earned a PhD in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine (UCI) and was a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Informatics at UCI and at Intel Labs. She is also a Reserve Firefighter/EMT at Orange County Fire Authority.
