Bryan is a 24-year veteran of the fire service, serving in various capacities. In October 2000 he started his career as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of Fairborn for 11 years before moving to the City of Dayton as a Fire Prevention Specialist. He was promoted to Fire Prevention Specialist- II, supervising the code enforcement and public education bureaus for the department. In 2019, Bryan became the Fire Marshal for the Pleasant Valley Fire District in Plain City, Ohio. In March of 2025, Bryan was promoted to Chief of the Pleasant Valley Fire District. Bryan is also a Contract Instructor for the National Fire Academy and locally at Tolles Career and Technical Center. Bryan has many certifications and also has an Associate of Technical Study- EMS & Fire Administration from Sinclair Community College and a Bachelor of Science- Fire & Safety Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Bryan achieved the designation of Fire Marshal by the Commission on Professional Credentialing in 2019, becoming one of only 210 credentialed Fire Marshals worldwide. He serves on the NFPA 1037- Standard of Fire Marshal Professional Qualifications Technical Committee and has served as a member of the International Code Council- Fire Service Membership Council Governing Committee. Bryan and his wife Sarah live outside of Plain City, Ohio with their six children.
